Dr Saskia de Craen is manager of the ‘Communications’ department. She is also the public affairs advisor for SWOV and is responsible for the production and quality of SWOV fact sheets. As a researcher, Saskia is a specialist in the fields of young novice drivers, accompanied driving (2toDrive), powered two-wheelers, advanced driver/rider trainings and self-driving vehicles. Saskia contributed to several European projects, such as MeBeSafe. She was a member of the OECD working group 'Safety of Powered Two-wheelers'.
In 2010, Saskia de Craen obtained her PhD at Delft University of Technology on the thesis The X‐factor; A longitudinal study of calibration in young novice drivers.
