VIRTUAL project continues in OVTO

The EU project VIRTUAL was concluded during the General Assembly on September 16 in Porto, Portugal. Within this project the VIRTUAL consortium has been working on developing virtual human body models. Because the body models can be adapted to numerous body and gender characteristics, they mean a major step forward in making cars more crash-safe; today's crash dummies are still geared for a man of average height and weight.

With the completion of VIRTUAL, the work on the human body models does not stop, but is given an important follow-up with the OVTO project. OVTO aims to make human body models accessible for all professionals in the automotive industry through open access.
