661 road deaths in 2019

In 2019, the Netherlands counted 661 road deaths: only 17 road deaths less than in 2018, according to figures released by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) on April 15th. In 2018, the number of road deaths showed an considerable increase of almost 11%.

MeBeSafe project: increased road safety through nudging

The MeBeSafe project (Measures for Behaving Safely in Traffic), started on 1 May 2017, runs for 3.5 years and is funded by the European Commission (Horizon 2020). SWOV is one of the 15 partners in this study.
