On 27 October 2016 Ecorys and SWOV presented the results of their study commissioned by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) “Improving Road Safety in OIC Countries“ to the 8th Meeting of the COMCEC Transport and Communications Working Group October in Ankara (Turkey).
This study evaluated the current state of road safety in the OIC countries, including crucial issues and challenges related to road safety management, political will and commitment, and capacities of key stakeholders to manage safety of roads. The study lead to a list of recommendations on strategies to improve road safety in the three OIC regions.
