Samenvatting

15 years regional models in the Netherlands : time for a new handbook. The ‘New Regional Model’ (NRM) is a strategic model system for the exploration of regional traffic policy. The Dutch Ministry of transport, public work and water management develops this system since 1989. Coordination of the developement and use of the system lies with the Transport Research Centre AVV of the Ministry. From the start in 1989 the NRM has been continiuoslycontinuously improved. The present situation is that the whole of the Netherlands is covered by seven a NRM models. This paper describes the new Handbook of the NRM. The Handbook is the first entrance to the users. It serves as a guideline for the realisationrealization and use of a NRM. First the NRM is introduced. Then the handbook covers all the relevant aspects of the preparation, the input data, the models, the results and the management concerning the NRM in an integral fashion. (Author/publisher)
