This guide is intended to supplement RRL report no 9 "operation and maintenance of the Fischer and Porter punched-tape counter". Its recommendations are based on many years' experience of automatic traffic counting, particularly as applied to the 50-point census. It covers several aspects of the inspection routine, the provision of supplies, handling of queries, data processing, recording of local events and site liaison visits. (Author/publisher)
