Samenvatting
This paper describes an advanced vehicle radar system designed for both collision warning system applications and for adaptive cruise control (ACC) systems. Collision warning is discussed in the paper. The radar system operates in the 60 GHz frequency. The author notes that Japan is the only country that has selected this frequency band for vehicle radar systems. The reasons for this selection and the advantages and disadvantages associated with this frequency band are discussed. The paper also presents the system specifications, component assemblies, block diagrams, and installation considerations.
