Samenvatting
The studiecentrum verkeerstechniek (svt) has started a project with the aim of providing as complete a catalogue as possible of urban traffic provisions. The project has the name of "recommendations for urban traffic provisions" (asvv) but it also applies to situations in villages and to the transition from urban to rural areas. The asvv should be used not only by the designers of traffic provisions, but also by students, police, road administrators, pressure groups, frontagers etc. The asvv will be a compilation of existing, but mostly dispersed knowledge and experience of traffic engineering. In this paper an overview is given of the set-up of this project and recommendations are presented for the use of this catalogue.
