Samenvatting

This paper examines the ability of elementary and secondary school children to sense oncoming car velocity. The study revealed that an older child is more likely to make correct slow and medium judgments of vehicle velocity. Results indicate considerable differences associated with age and sex. Vehicle-associated characteristics, such as noise and size, are also shown to influence velocity judgment.
