Samenvatting

The Australian Automobile Association in 1995 commissioned a major study of motorists' priorities and attitudes over a wide range of transport related areas. In 1996, a smaller, follow-up study was conducted to examine some of the key issues in more detail and investigate other, emerging issues, such as ITS. In relation to ITS, the 1996 research program was designed to provide some early insights into motorists' reactions to future technological advances. It measured motorists' desire for more information about new technologies and the importance they place on motoring organisations being involved in the introduction and monitoring of these. The study also assessed the perceived benefits of, and concerns about, ITS.
