Samenvatting

Most parking assistance systems are on-board systems. One of the drawbacks of these systems is the cost, which means that drivers who really need assistance, like elderly drivers, cannot afford them. An elderly driver hasmany characteristics, and thus, we proposed two types of external parkingsystems, one is a guidance type and the other is an education type, and each type was evaluated with experiments with 18 elderly drivers. The objective of this study is to find out the relationship between the system types and their driving styles through the experiments with the systems and questionnaire on their driving styles. One of the results indicates that theassistance systems are less effective to a driver who drives every day.
