Samenvatting

Analysis of the national injury accident data show that single vehicle accidents involving three-wheeled cars occur at more than three times the rate for other cars. The overall injury accident rate is however only about 30% greater. Handling tests representing cornering and overtaking manoeuvres showed that on all except very slippery surfaces, one model of three wheeled car had a lower performance than one model of four-wheeled car because it tended to overturn before reaching limiting adhesion.
