Samenvatting

This report seeks to estimate the effect of infrastructure-based Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway Systems (AHS) deployment by confirming the effect of deployment of existing pilot systems. The number of traffic accidents occurring before and after deployment was confirmed for the pilot systems, which were guidelight systems and support for prevention of collisions with forward obstacles. The results for both types of facility confirm that traffic accidents decreased after deployment. It was also confirmed that curve entry speed decreased 11% after deployment of the guidelight system. From these results, it is presumed that the introduction of infrastructure-based systems would be effective in increasing traffic safety.
