Samenvatting

The main objectives of this study are to identify and understand the elements of driver performance, characteristics, habits and lifestyle which may help to explain the higher accident involvement rates of younger drivers, whilst taking into account driving experience and exposure rates. The study involves comparing different samples of drivers varying by age and experience. The three major components of the research concern driving- assessments, detailed interviews of the drivers and driving diaries to record journey details.
