Samenvatting
This paper deals with traffic analysis in Brazil. The traffic department has decided to develop an extensive program in order to gather all accident data. This will allow to identify hazardous sites. The elaboration is based in the following five systems- 1. the system of gathering all pertaining data. 2. Analysis and diagnosis. 3. System of solution and proposal for improvement. 4. System of ac-cident costs and 5. System of follow-up and feed back. The main documents assigned to gather information are accident reports and follow-up reports. The indexes show that the injuries and deaths on federal highways have decreased in relation to the increase in vehicles and federal paved road network.
