Samenvatting
Seat belt usage by children is analysed from an injury viewpoint. Background data consist of 683 accidents involving Volvo cars. Results do not verify the following suppositions (1) belted children are injured more often or more seriously than belted adults (2) belted children sustain head, chest or neck injuries to a greater extent than adults and (3) short occupants, including children, sustain neck injuries from the belt.
