Samenvatting

A realistic estimate of the safety effects that will be gained by the introduction of advanced driver supports requires knowledge of a number of elements, of which user behavior is the least understood. This paper focuses on the available knowledge, in particular on the mechanisms by which users could change their behavior once they possess the support. The paper then discusses how parameters describing driving behavior can be translated into quantitative estimates of the safety effects to be achieved. For the covering abstract see ITRD E209471.
