Samenvatting
This paper reviews the recent development and implementation of adaptive traffic signal control sytems, expressway surveillance and management systems, and tunnel control systems in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, and Singapore. Key issues to be discussed include system design approach, procurement approach, proprietary technology, integration of local and foreign technologies, and system maintenance, operation and expansion.
