Samenvatting

The effect of a cross-wind on a vehicle making a turn is considered. It is shown that the actual curvature of the vehicle trajectory, due to a fixed steering angle is the "no wind" result corrected by an amount dependent upon the relative wind angle and the tyre and aerodynamic car characteristics. This analysis is based on some wind tunnel experimental values of the aerodynamic characteristics of racing car models.
