Samenvatting

It is stated that although everyone must be willing to take risks, certain risks are unnecessarily high. This is particularly so as regards road traffic. The extent to which aggressive behaviour is seen on the roads and how this behaviour can be modified is reviewed. Observations at pedestrian crossings were used to measure the aggressiveness of drivers. Recommendations are made with respect to education which could lead to the improvement of the humanization of traffic.
