The development of air freight markets cannot do without active operations in the market. Those who are engaged in air freight at Schiphol Airport concluded that an active market policy should be based upon good knowledge of the existing market and the possibilities of development. A database was defined and filled with data from the National Bureau of Statistics with air freight data disaggregated to the 4-digit NSTR classification and to countries of origin and destination.
