Samenvatting
The need to fly in all weathers to satisfy commercial demand, coupled with higher speeds and a higher density of aircraft, necessitated an effective Air Traffic Control (ATC) system which would provide a separation service whilst at the same time ensuring that traffic flow would be orderly and expeditions. Predicting trends in ATC particularly with respect to likely timescales is not easy. Some new developments in ATC, computer graphic terminals, radar displays, communication etc. are mentioned.
