Samenvatting
This report is the final report on the evaluation of the effectiveness of the Alberta Impaired Drivers' Program. The findings of the study include the following: 1. No reduction in recidivism was found to result from the program; 2. A "general" improvement in driving behaviour was noted in the records of those attending the program; 3. The program was found to be an effective screening and referral system for persons with drinking or driving problems; 4. Arguments were made for formative rather than summative evaluation procedures when evaluating programs like the Alberta Impaired Drivers' Programs. (Author)
