Although several studies have reported association between alcohol consumption and cognitive variables, there is no clear- cut evidence that social drinking is associated with poorer intellectual functions. One thing is clear: there is simply no evidence indicating the presence of cognitive signs of cerebral impairment in social drinkers, there is no evidence of neuropsychological deficit.
