This issue of Current Topics includes over 85 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on driver behaviour while under the influence of alcohol, drugs and medications. Items are included on the recognition and prevention of drunken and impaired driving, treatment of offenders, legislation on blood alcohol content, law enforcement, treatment of offenders, behavioural studies, rehabilitation programs and the effectiveness of publicity campaigns. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2001-2003. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
