Samenvatting
The aim of this study is to give a survey of the arithmetical aspects of the analysis and prognosis of traffic flow on a national scale. The estimations refer to a period of ten to thirty years. The study is restricted to passenger transport on working days. Some hypotheses on the origins of traffic are discussed as well as the results of the analysis. Finally a survey of the main causes of the increase of transport and traffic is given.
