Samenvatting

European car manufacturers, setmakers and research institutes have worked for about 10 years on Adaptive Frontlighting Systems (AFS). Due to the fact that an AFS is no longer a single part of the car, it will have to be regarded in systems context with sensor and control devices resulting in a rising complexity. In order to increase safety in nighttime traffic, the light distribution should improve the visibility of objects such as delineation lines. On the other hand, glare levels for other traffic participants shall be less or equal to those of conventional headlights. This paper presents requirements for simulation software derived from measurements of the glare illuminance E. For the covering abstract see ITRD E123380.
