Samenvatting

It is the purpose of this research to measure the effectiveness of the MRC project that is being conducted in the northern most 13 counties of Illinois, the area served by the Northern Illinois University; regional center of the Motorcycle Safety Project in Illinois. This research project consisted of interviewing 200 motorcyclists and compiling data about their motorcycling habits and accident histories. The cyclists were divided into equal groups of 100 to compare the effectiveness of MRC training as compared with no MRC training in preventing accidents. 100 Motorcycle Rider Course graduates from 1977 comprised the test group. That test group was compared against 100 motorcycle riders with no formal training; the control group in this study.
