Samenvatting
An analysis of lane-drop effects on freeways is presented. A mathematical model which described the density perturbation on a multi-lane freeway was formulated and validated. Several types of lane-drop are studied. Data taken on two selected freeway lane-drop sites by aerial photography are compared to the results obtained from the mathematical model.
