Samenvatting

This paper describes a study into the maximum pelvis acceleration. An investigation was carried out into the relationship of pelvis acceleration with the secondary impact point intensity. A force-displacement characteristic factor at the secondary impact point was derived as an index for representing the secondary impact point intensity. The validity of the force-displacement characteristic factor was confirmed by analyzing experimental data obtained in full-scale tests. In addition, a new bench test procedure has been developed for assessing the factor in tests of door assemblies alone.
