Samenvatting

This study aims to define the pros and the cons of progressive signal systems with progression speed of 30 km/h on urban traffic flow. The research was carried out in the form of a before and after study in Germany in the year 1993. Two different cases were examined in the after study. A low progression speed enforced by the corresponding speed limit causes improvements of both the traffic safety and the environmental quality. (A)
