Samenvatting

Pedestrian injuries are examined using the Pedestrian Injury Causation Study data file for effects of pedestrian age, vehicle speed, and source of the injury. It is shown that the more severe injuries are caused by contact with the vehicle, and that a stiff structure becomes increasingly more dangerous, not only as speed increases, but also as the pedestrian's age increases.
