Samenvatting

In order to serve the diverse travel demands in large urban areas, automated highway networks located in such areas will have to contain automated highway interchanges. This paper develops a methodology for analyzing interchange operation in an automated highway network under the assumption that the network is operated according to a ''cycle preprogramming'' strategy. A method for increasing the value of effective network capacity is investigated.
