Samenvatting

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are generally considered as promising for reducing road transport externalities (e.g. congestion, trafficaccidents, and environmental stress). ADAS involve systems that take overparts of the vehicle driving task. Policymakers are interested in implementing ADAS to achieve their transport policy goals. Although ADAS researchand development has been going on for decades, implementation is proceeding very slowly. past public policies on ADAS implementation are evaluated in depth in order to draw lessons for future policymaking. It is considered that policy actions have not been focused on the actual implementation of ADAS.
