Walking rates on the pedestrian facilities in bangkok were determined and compared with those of western standards as wellas with findings obtained in other asian countries. The findings ofthe study confirmed that asian pedestrians walk slower compared with their western counterparts, so local design standards are needed for pedestrian facilities in asian countries.
