Samenvatting

The box-jenkins statistical method has been used to analyse point-to-point time series data for air and rail passenger traffic on the London-Glasgow route. Attempts have been made to identify explanatory variables which describe changes in the various passenger flows through time, and the effects of interactions and of particular events (such as strikes) are explored. Comments are also made on the reliability and appropriateness of the time series as supplied by the operators (British Airways and British Rail). (Author/publisher)
