Annual tabulations of mature driver program driving record comparisons - 1989. Annual report to the legislature of the state of California, in accord with assembly bill 2610 chapter 1325, 1986 legislative session.

The following report presents tabulations and statistical comparisons of the accident and conviction records of 40, 399 Mature Driver Improvement (MDI) course participants, aged 55 and above, and a randomly selected sample of 75, 064 drivers in the same age range. Results of the six- month post- course statistical comparisons indicate that MDI course graduates had significantly lower rates of fatal or injury accidents and traffic convictions than had comparison drivers.
