Samenvatting

A brief account is given of the development of antilock braking systems in Britain, together with a summary of British Leyland activities in this field. The effect of using transistorized electronic circuitry to detect and interpret signals from velocity transducers at the wheels is discussed and its impact in recent years on the cost of anti-lock braking systems is mentioned.
