Samenvatting

The use of antihistamines is usually associated with impairment of central nervous function. Drowsiness has been attributed to various mechanisms. Unacceptable decrements in performance may not be an inevitable sequel in the use of antihistamines, and histamines which do not impair performance would be a useful advance in therapeutics. Various drugs a.o. Astemizole, Terfenadine and Megquitazine are studied in man with particular reference to their effects on performance.
