Samenvatting
The improvement to road safety was associated with a reduction in delay to other traffic caused by the presence of occasional vehicles waiting to turn right at the many intersections, and the improvement to right-turning efficiency at those junctions where this manoeuvre is allowed. These measures have had similar beneficial effects on travel times, fuel consumption and intersection capacity. There appears to have been no adverse effect to the accesibility of premises in the residential areas lying behind the study route frontage. Hence none of the apprehensions voiced during the consultative stage have materialised.
