The major objective of this project is to evaluate the state of the art" technology developed for other purposes to determine where it can be applied to accident investigation, especially in the determination of motor vehicle accident causation. The results of this program are reported in three volumes. Vol. 3 contains step-by step procedures and personnel prerequisites developed for the accident information -- through the adaptation of equipment or techniques developed for other uses. The following topics are included in this volume: 2- vehicle investigation -5 3- preservation of accident-induced physical evidence for later documentation -65 4- documentation of the physical evidence by two-way radio -85 5- Interrogation of involved parties and witnesses -101 6- Photographic index of alcohol intoxication -157 7- video tape documentation of accident related information -175 8- basic accident reporting systems.
