Samenvatting

This paper presents results of a traffic conflict field study for rotary intersections in Jordan. The three commonly occurring conflict types namely, lane change.sudden stop and violation for give way are investigated at six major rotary intersections in Amman. The determining influences of various rotary geometry parameters and selected traffic flow parameters are investigated via stepwise multiple regression analysis. The paper illustrates the applications of powerful statistical prediction models in the field of traffic conflicts occurring at roundabouts in a city.
