This paper describes the work to examine the potential for the application of Information and Telecommunication Technologies to Road Safety. The main proposal was for a safety interface to be placed in the vehicle dashboard, providing information and hazard warnings for the driver. This interface would be supported by a vehicle information system and a road information system.
