Samenvatting
A review of literature and an analysis of accident data have been combined to study the differences between male and female driving exposure, accident rates, and crash responsibility. Factors considered include age, miles driven, accident severity, and type of violation. The primary findings are that men and women drive under very different circumstances, and that any difference between their accident rates merely reflects a difference between two sets of exposure variables, rather than a difference between the quality of male or female driving performance.
