Armering och stabilisering av sand i bärlager vid förstärkning av väg : prov vid sunne 1988 = Reinforcement and stabilisation of sand in a roadbase : an experiment in Värmland, western Sweden 1988.

At the request of the National Road Administration, the VTI has conducted an experiment using sand in the roadbase of Road 881 in Värmland, western Sweden. The aim of the experiment was to investigate whether it is possible in certain cases to use sand nearer the road surface than hitherto permitted in the road construction directives of the National Road Administration, BYA, in particular those applying in 1988 when the experiment started. The reason for studying new or increased usage of sand is that in many cases there is a surplus of this material, often as a result of sand separation in the production of gravel with a specified grain size distribution.
