Samenvatting

This paper reviews the current state of play in Australian transit signal priority (TSP) by identifying world best practices and assessing how Australian systems perform relative to these. It describes the main features and processes involved in TSP. A series of best practices approaches is identified through a review of world experience including transport research literature. TSP systems operating in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and South East Queensland are then described and assessed to identify which of these approaches are being used. The paper concludes by identifying issues and priorities for future system development based on this analysis. (a) For the covering entry of this conference, please see ITRD abstract no. 0612AR242E.
