Samenvatting

The dangers associated with pedestrians coming into contact with vehicles in a typical residential street are reduced by 10 percent when one/or two parallel streets is closed to through traffic. A saving of 15% is achieved by introducing parking bays in the street. Savings of between 50 and 90 percent can be achieved by incorporating reduction of speed of traffic with road closures or nature strip widenings.
