Samenvatting

Jack-knifing of articulated vehicles is usually caused by the locking of the tractor rear wheels, when brakes are applied. A method of preventing jack-knifing is to use an anti-locking braking system to ensure that these wheels do not lock. This report describes the results obtained during braking tests with an articulated lorry, which had the Automotive Products Group "Antilok" anti-locking braking system fitted to the rear brakes of the tractor unit.
