Samenvatting
This study describes the city of Athy and its road network, and gives general characteristics of the accidents in the town and their location. 62 fatal and injury accidents were recorded during 1970-1982. The following factors were the subject of a special study; vehicle speeds, skid resistance, public lighting and costs of traffic accidents. A traffic accident prevention strategy is outlined.
