Samenvatting

This report presents a detailed description of the Australian Transport Software Integration System (ATSIS). ATSIS has been substantially refined to make it a flexible data language to link transport software packages for the design, planning and evaluation of urban traffic facilities. The report describes the general features of the ATSIS format, including basic concepts of the file structure, data hierarchy and level of detail in data provision. ATSIS file types for various purposes are described. The concept of ATSIS file sections is introduced, and definitions of sections are presented. ATSIS data is discussed in detail. Data types are defined, important features of the data format and a number of traffic data issues are discussed, and abbreviations used in ATSIS are listed. A full listing of ATSIS keywords including the sections in which they appear, format definitions, data descriptions and examples of their use is given. An example to demonstrate the ATSIS common data file format is given. (A)
